About Us

Our History

Hardcore Construction started our business with a pry bar, a sledge hammer, very little money, and a tattered old 1979 Dodge pick up  truck. Folks always called this a Hardcore way to do work. I guess the name just stuck!

Owner, Myron Smiens was born and raised in Austinville Iowa and has been in the concrete trade over 29 years. Myron and his wife Genet launched their business in Cedar Falls Iowa in 1992 and moved out to the great Northwest in 1997. They began the Oregon business in 1999.

We have come a long way in both distance and experience from our humble beginnings in Iowa to our current business location in Warren Oregon. We have fond memories of those “hard knock” first years and are continually learning new skills in our trade.

Hardcore has assisted in community building projects, such as Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Memorial Park, Church projects, Columbia County Christian School and special needs in our community.

Our Team

Sean Chapman, Genet Smiens, Myron Smiens,

Not only are our employees great concrete guys, but they are also a talented bunch of musicians. Sean sings and plays electric guitar, Gary plays the drums and Ryan is the drummer in his very successful band named "Set in Stone"  We are blessed with this crew and thankful they are with us.
