Not only are our employees great guys, but Sean, Ryan and Gary are also very talented musicians. Sean is a great part of our business and has been with Hardcore over 18 years. He also plays electric guitar, sings on worship team at church and is a great disc golf champion. Ryan started in 2015 and is the drummer in his successful local band  "Set in Stone". Gary is semi retired and our pressure wash & seal guy. He plays the drums and is a great artist. Both Mason and Slater are our sons who have helped us a lot over the years and continue to learn the concrete trade while in school and in the summer.

How we started in business

Hardcore Construction started in business using a pry bar, a sledge hammer, a tattered old 1979 Dodge pickup truck and very little money. Folks always called this a really "hardcore" way to work and the name just stuck, so we decided to use it to name our business.

Owner, Myron Smiens was born and raised in Austinville Iowa and has been in the concrete trade over 30 years. Myron and his wife Genet launched their business in Cedar Falls Iowa in 1992 and moved out to the great Northwest in 1997. They began business in Oregon in 1999. 

"We have come a long way in both distance and experience from our humble beginnings in Iowa to our current business location in Warren Oregon." We have fond memories of those "Hard Knock" first years and are continually learning new skills in our trade. Hardcore Construction LLC, has assisted in community building projects, such as Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Memorial Park, Church projects, Columbia County Christian School and special needs in our community.
